Star Struck Gala
At St. Francis Center for Renewal, we are privileged to know many remarkable women and men who cross our threshold each year. In 2011, we decided that we wanted to highlight the lives of some of these individuals ~ to “Shine our Light” on members of our retreat family who, in themselves, are beacons of our Lord’s love and graciousness. And thus was born the Star Struck Gala ~ an evening that has become an annual celebration of St. Francis Center for Renewal, our friends and family and an array of individuals who are especially honored because their lives exemplify the Christian values that we hold dear.
In 2013, we supplemented our Gala celebrations with the addition of the Woman of Strength Awards.
These awards “shine a light” on the faith-filled lives and accomplishments of women who exemplify specific traits ~ The strength of character, Christian values, Courage, Generosity, Persistence, Optimism, Integrity and Community service.
NEW in 2019! The Troubadour of Light Award!
Presented to a young person, between the ages of 18 and 35, who has chosen to proclaim the Gospel by ‘letting their light shine! Announcing the first recipient…Bethlehem born actress ~ Madelyn Dundon!
An additional highlight of the evening is always the ‘welcoming home’ of the alumnae of St. Francis Academy.
Each year we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of a graduating class as well as specific classes.
The Star Struck Gala has been our major fundraiser in support of the ministry that is at the heart of our Center.
Many hours of volunteer efforts and the essential sponsorship of local businesses and individuals make the event possible. A Silent Auction augments the income brought in by the evening.
