May 1 - Our Spiritual ~ Religious Experience
May 8 - Journaling our Spiritual ~ Religious Experience
May 15 - Examen of Consciousness
May 22 - Implications for Spiritual Decision-Making
FACILITATOR: JEROME HERAUF
We are delighted to once again offer this evening retreat facilitated by Jerome Herauf. All are welcome...those who have taken the prior four sessions and wish to go deeper and those who will be new to the group.
Following are some of the comments from the group who met in March.
"I enjoyed hearing about the leader's personal spiritual journey. I found his stories fascinating not only because of the various world experiences he shared, but because he is an original source, a witness to the possibilities that exist within ..."
You clearly "know your stuff" which I appreciate greatly.
"I am trying to fine-tune and expand my consciousness during prayer, and using some of these ideas are already working well for me. I plan to continue to try to apply these things by using your handouts and continuing to try different approaches to see what works for me."
"Thank you for sharing from your personal experience. I am sure that there is much more you can relate that can make a significant difference in the individuals who are looking to enrich their spiritual life. We need more mentors; more people who are willing to spend the time guiding others."
"I enjoyed everything, but I found your concise and clear explanation of the core ideas of each topic to be most helpful, probably because it helped unify and link the several variations and different approaches that can be taken for each topic."
A WAY TO GROW: 6:45-9:00 PM
Join is as we examine how we grow spiritually. Jerome will lead us through a four-part process of prayer/meditation, reflection upon prayer and upon life, and spiritual decision-making. Through a variety of inputs and group sharing, participants will come to experience the full effects of this process.
May 1 - Our Spiritual ~ Religious Experience: We discover again what we mean by spiritual/religious experience and begin to examine various ways to enter into it, including several forms of meditation and prayer.
May 8 - Journaling our Spiritual ~ Religious Experience: We are invited to reflect upon these experiences through writing or other means we find appropriate. Input is given from authors who have contributed significantly to this subject.
May 15 - Examen of Consciousness: The Examen provides us with a way to reflect upon our prayer and life experiences from a spiritual/religious perspective. It will also assist us in our practice of journaling.
May 22 - Implications for Spiritual Decision-Making: The implications of journaling and the Examen are explored. Since our spiritual decisions depend so closely upon our spiritual understandings (reflection), these implications are vast.
